We cannot keep silent! (Official statement of April 25, 2005) The revolting way in which the government treats all the difficulties that the country currently meets cannot leave us quiet.

We are again under the cut of a colonial power: democracy does not have any flavour any more in Madagascar. The regime turns a deaf ear to the people's aspirations, and when it condescends to lend the ear to it, it answers by words filled with pride and sufficiency, threats, of inclination of elimination and totalitarism.

The attitude full of animosity which the government adopted “to regulate” the strike of the students and the magistrats is absolutely unworthy of a regime which claims to be Christian, and which claims “to like Madagascar”.

Unfortunately, the Malagasy People again will have to fight in order to recover his independence, because the colonial capacity is destroying the Nation.

It is with a great sadness that we say “Madagascar is lost”.

Reverend Daniel Rajakoba, president of party FIHAVANANTSIKA
