Dear Compatriots, dear Friends of Madagascar !

"We are one for Madagascar" !

I went throughout the whole country of Madagascar, I personally saw, listened, considered... I have been deeply distressed at the sight of the people, "helpless like sheep without shepherd".

Yet, as everybody knows it, Madagascar benefits of diverse natural riches which are largely enough for its development.

Moreover, the country is rich of  qualified work-force, high level technicians in every branch of science, who are ready to serve for the good of the Nation…

How is it then, that Madagascar ranks among the poorest countries in the world ?

I am convinced that the problem is neither an economic or cultural one : it is basically due to the human condition, an ethical problem. Madagascar needs a new leader, a man whose mentality and heart have been renewed.

I therefore freely took the firm decision to run for the 2001 presidential election.

Evangelising the country will neither be my intention nor my duty as I bid for the highest office –this mission is the Church’s. However, I strongly believe that only a leader who fears God and respects the Christian fundamental values (Love, Justice and Integrity) will be in a position to restore the land, have democracy, liberty and equality respected and  enable Progress.

Hence, our slogan will shape our general policy : "Employment for all, for the good and progress of all".

Dear Compatriots, dear Friends, we consequently call on your help and support in our efforts to give the Malagasy Nation its dignity amongst the United Nations.

Let us all be united for the Malagasy Cause.
